Some of you may remember a similar photo posted when Isis died last year (you can see other cute photos of her there). In any case, it is a real, undoctored photo, one of a series of our dear pet rat Isis showing off her extreme fearlessness of other, much larger animals and Lexie showing how much she loves to take care of small creatures. We got Isis and her mother the day after Isis opened her eyes and I think she just always felt safe and sound and happy. While all five of our rats were friendly to greater and lesser degrees, Isis was quite beyond friendly. More like, she controlled the household. We miss her like crazy.

As we all know, Wes and I are judging this week’s competition. Even though I claimed that our photo would be eligible, you can all rest easy that I am not actually THAT big of a bitch. It would be nice, though, to butter up the judge a little by telling her how absolutely amazing this photo is and what a brilliant photographer husband she has. It IS an awesome picture. He IS an awesome photographer. I love the one of Lexie leaping in the snow. Good stuff.
